Olusola Akinseye

I started my career as a fulltime illustrator in 2002. My works have been published in several storybooks, textbooks, periodicals and calendars. I have done extensive work in children and youth publications, I have also serviced clients in other fields (public service, construction, finance, faith…)

I am versatile in vector graphics and illustration as well as in comic book content creation. For over a decade I managed a comic book studio (The Comics Hut) producing well over a 100 quality afrocentric and educational comics for young readers under the Cowrie Comics and Living Scrolls imprints.

Today, I accept commissions from clients while also taking time to develop personal projects. You can find out what I am up to from my online journal

In 2007, I was long-listed for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award. And in 2008, I was granted the Macmillian, Illustrator Award for Africa.

Creativity is not just ‘work’ for me, it’s life. And I love it!
